Since 2020, the federal government of Nigeria have been announcing to the genre public to see that they get their Nin linked to their various Sim-card.

Many people never took the warnings serious. Lines were supposed to be blocked or banned in 2021 but because of some reasons the FG kept mute.

Announcement have been going on but few people took the FG serious.

So the 5th of April, 2022 about 72 million Sim cards were banned from making calls and texting.

The only way was to get a Nin and link it to one's Sim. Going to the Nimc office would waste ones time.

What is Nin?

NIN is an abbreviated words for National Identification Number. Since 2020, the federal government of nigeria made it compulsory for every nigerian citizen to operate with Nin.

The rise of online fraud and fake identities has become so much that the nigerian system can't seem to identify most transactions coming in and out of it's servers.

Nin is mostly required when creating or verifying one's bank account details and when registering a new mobile Sim card.

Right now old SIM cards holders are also required to link their nin to MTN.

Here are step-by-step guide to Link your Nin to MTN.

MTN nin link code— *785# or send NIN in capital letters to 785 as a text.

1. Download the MTN mobile App and navigate to the Nin section then fill our the required information.

Your email might be required, the number that got banned and an alternative number where they will send an OTP. 

Make sure to fill out all the required details so that you won't be asked to visit their nearest office.

You will also be asked to input your Nin and while doing that be sure the numbers are correct.

Click submit and you're good to go.

2. How to Link your Nin to Airtel ver fast.

Are you making use of MTN and Airtel Network? And you are wondering how to link your Nin so that you can get back online ASAP.

Here's how to link your Nin to Airtel.

1.  Go to www.airtel.com.ng/nin

You will be required to put your contact which you want to get linked. You are required to start with 9015036464 and not with 090-------- this is because your country code has been placed first.

2. After that you will be taken to another page where you will asked to  put your email address which will be used to send your OTP.  Note since the first number you inserted has been banned, you won't receive any OTP code with it so your email will be used.

3. Next your alternative contact will be required and after you fill it out you will be taken to another page. 

Linked your Nin to MTN, Airtel, Glo or 9mobile is very easy if you follow the steps I have provided..

4. The last step will be to insert your Nin which will be processed by your mobile network provider. Make sure the code is 11 digits and there is no mistake.

3. How to link your Nin to 9Mobile ( Etisalat) 

To link your Nin to 9mobile, simply visit their website www.9mobile.com.ng/nin to get information on the nearest office. You will be required to come with your Nin at the point of registering a new sim or existing sim card.

4. Glo Nin link code 2022.

To link your Nin to Glo, simply dial *109# on your mobile phone and follow the prompts. 

Fill out all the details and click send it submit. Wait for 24hrs and your sim should be linked to your Nin and reactivated.
